Tom Wills, Director
Tom has been TJM’s Director since October 2023. With a background as a trade campaigner at the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre and Transform Trade, he specialises in development, supply chains, human rights, and corporate accountability. Before joining civil society, Tom worked in three UK Government departments.

Leo Verity, Advocacy Manager
Leo is a policy and advocacy professional with expertise in trade justice, global development, refugee rights, and social care policy. He has a background in civil society and parliamentary engagement; before joining TJM, he worked with organisations including Refugee Action, and Alzheimer’s Society, focusing on policy development and advocacy for vulnerable communities.

George Holt, Research Manager
George is a trained social researcher with expertise in trade, climate and regulation. She has a background in public policy and consumer advocacy; before joining TJM in 2022 she was a Senior Policy Researcher at Which?, and has worked in a range of research roles.

Catherine Callens, Senior Communications Adviser
Catherine is a strategic communicator dedicated to amplifying voices for justice. She leads TJM’s media and communications strategy, ensuring trade justice issues reach the right audiences and drive impact. With experience across civil society, she has shaped narratives on trade, human rights, economic justice, international development, nutrition, social housing, and disability rights.

The Board
Kierra Box, Friends of the Earth (Chair)
Kierra currently leads work on Trade and Environmental Regulation at Friends of the Earth. She has spent the past 8 eight years working on policy, advocacy and campaigns issues relating to the UK’s exit from the EU, and post-Brexit environmental governance.
Previously, Kierra spent 15 years working on a range of policy and campaign issues across the NGO and charity sector, including around food production, the private rented sector and benefit reform. She is also chair of GM Freeze.
Lucy Brill, CAFOD
Lucy is CAFOD’s Private Sector Policy Lead, advocating for laws to hold companies accountable for human rights and environmental abuses in supply chains. She also supports global South partners on cases like illegal gold mining’s impact on Indigenous people in the Brazilian Amazon.
Previously, she worked at Homeworkers Worldwide, improving conditions for women in fashion supply chains, and at Oxfam on UK poverty (2007-14). She was also a researcher at Bradford (2003-7) and Manchester (2015-17) universities.
Nick Dearden, Global Justice Now
Nick is the director of Global Justice Now. He has been a campaigner against corporate globalisation and for global economic justice for over 20 years, including with War on Want, Amnesty International and Jubilee Debt Campaign. He has been a leading voice in the campaign for a People’s Vaccine and a key organiser against neoliberal trade deals including the now abandoned EU/US trade deal (TTIP). He regularly contributes political analysis to publications including The Guardian, Al Jazeera, Open Democracy, Red Pepper and Soundings journal.
Orla Delargy, Competition and Consumer Protection Commission
Orla is Head of Communications and Marketing at Ireland’s Competition and Consumer Protection Commission. With over 20 years of experience across government, private sector, and civil society, she previously led Sustain’s response to post-Brexit trade and led a successful campaign at LEON restaurants to save universal infant free school meals. Orla also served as Head of Campaign Strategy and Chief Press Officer at the Department for Education, advising on high-priority communications like national curriculum changes and the school food plan. She has been on the Trade Justice Movement Board since 2022.
Rosa Crawford, Trades Union Congress (TUC)
Rosa is Policy Lead on international trade and UK-EU relations at the Trades Union Congress. She sits on several government advisory groups, including those monitoring the UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement and non-EU trade deals.
She represents the TUC in the European Trade Union Confederation’s trade committee and engages with the International Trade Union Confederation on trade. Rosa has provided evidence to parliamentary committees on UK-Gulf trade talks and regularly writes and speaks on trade issues both in the UK and internationally.
Liz McKean, War On Want
Liz is Head of Advocacy at War on Want, where she leads campaigns to challenge the root causes of poverty and inequality. With a background in international development and human rights, Liz has worked on trade justice, social justice, and labour rights issues for over a decade. She has advocated for fairer global trade policies, led research on corporate accountability, and contributed to campaigns influencing policy at national and international levels. Liz has also worked with grassroots organisations to empower communities and promote sustainable change.
Oliver Sawbridge, Economist Group
Oliver Sawbridge specialises in international trade, with extensive experience in policy and research. As a senior manager at The Economist Group, he examines global trends reshaping trade, including geopolitics, technology, and climate change. Previously, he worked on the UK’s Free Trade Agreement programme at the Department for International Trade and as a policy researcher in the House of Commons. He holds a Master’s in international relations from the University of Auckland, focusing on building a fairer, more sustainable global trading system.
